"My Help Comes From the Lord," by Josh Snodgrass
You may be familiar with the hours-long video compilations of hymn and worship arrangements by guitarist Josh Snodgrass. If so, you might encounter an unfamiliar little gem, “My Help Comes From the Lord.” A beautiful tune. Maybe you wanted to sing along. Yet a quick search finds no lyrics, no sheet music, no cover, nothing.
A few people asked around, and Josh Snodgrass answered: “Hi everyone, I wrote this song myself which is why you can't find the original.”
Josh Snodgrass recorded a story of his hope in Jesus Christ, and the divine help he received to overcome drug addition and homelessness:
My Help Comes From the Lord, by Josh Snodgrass:
You hear my cry
You know my plea
Do not forsake me in my time of need
You are my Hope
When hope is gone
So I will place my trust in you, my God
CHORUS:
In time of trouble
I come before Your throne
No other name can save
I trust in You, alone
Where does my help come from, if not from You?
My help comes from the Lord
You are my Rock
My cornerstone
My firm foundation in the rising storm
You are my strength
You are my shield
You're stronger than any tower ever built
[CHORUS]
You lift me up
Out of the grave
Maker of heaven and earth will surely save
You are the Way
You are the Light
Finally Truth will guide me through the night
[CHORUS]
